Melbourne, July 8: Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi arrived in Melbourne, Australia, on Wednesday as part of his official visit aimed at strengthening bilateral ties between the two nations.

Soon after his arrival, Prime Minister Modi shared a message on social media, expressing confidence that the visit would further deepen the India-Australia relationship.

"Landed in Melbourne. This visit will add vigour to the India-Australia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership. I look forward to the talks with Prime Minister Albanese. I will also have the opportunity to interact with the Indian diaspora, which is an important pillar of our partnership," Modi wrote.

During the visit, Prime Minister Modi is scheduled to hold high-level bilateral talks with Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese. The discussions are expected to focus on enhancing cooperation in trade, investment, defence, clean energy, critical minerals, education, technology, and regional security.

The Prime Minister will also meet members of the vibrant Indian diaspora in Australia, acknowledging their significant contribution to strengthening the people-to-people ties between the two countries.

India and Australia have significantly expanded their cooperation in recent years under the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with both countries working closely in the Indo-Pacific region and through multilateral forums such as the Quad. Modi's visit is expected to further reinforce this growing partnership and open new avenues for collaboration across strategic and economic sectors.
