Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been conferred with Seychelles' highest national honour, "Guardian of the Blue Horizon," in recognition of his outstanding contribution to global climate action, sustainable development, maritime cooperation, and strengthening India–Seychelles relations.

The prestigious award was presented by Seychelles President Patrick Herminie during the country's 50th Independence Day celebrations. The honour reflects the deep and growing partnership between India and Seychelles, particularly in the areas of maritime security, the blue economy, and regional development.

Accepting the award, Prime Minister Modi dedicated the honour to all nations working to combat climate change. He reaffirmed India's commitment to protecting the oceans, promoting sustainable development, and supporting Small Island Developing States (SIDS) through global cooperation.

During the visit, India and Seychelles signed several agreements aimed at expanding cooperation in maritime security, capacity building, development partnerships, and the blue economy. India also handed over an Indian-built Fast Patrol Vessel to Seychelles, further strengthening bilateral defence and security ties.

The latest honour adds to the growing list of international recognitions received by Prime Minister Modi and underscores India's expanding diplomatic engagement and strategic partnership with countries across the Indian Ocean region.
