Speaking on the occasion, the MLA appreciated the Municipal Council’s initiative to develop public spaces and improve the overall environment of the town. He said such facilities provide residents with a clean, green and pleasant place while also contributing to the beautification of Jawalamukhi.

She also thanked Sub-Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Sanjeev Sharma, who administered the oath of office and secrecy. In addition, Sharma expressed her appreciation to all Municipal Council councillors, government officials, employees, elected representatives, distinguished citizens, members of the media, and everyone who attended the oath-taking ceremony.

Expressing her gratitude after being elected, President Som Kiran Sharma thanked the residents of Jawalamukhi, fellow councillors, and MLA Sanjay Rattan for their trust and support.

Congress leader Gyaneshwar Sharma described the outcome as a clear endorsement of the party’s policies and leadership. He said the people of Jawalamukhi had reaffirmed their faith in Congress despite a strong challenge from the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), giving the party a decisive mandate for local governance.

Our goal is to make Jawalamukhi a model town with equal development in all nine wards. We are committed to providing better infrastructure and civic amenities for both residents and visiting pilgrims,” he added.

On the final day of nomination withdrawal, 32-year-old Somesh Kaushik secured an unopposed victory, creating a new milestone. A civil engineer by profession, Kaushik received strong support from fellow candidates, paving the way for his uncontested win.
