The Ward No. 2 contest in the Jawalamukhi Municipal Council elections turned noteworthy this time due to the absence of a BJP-backed candidate, which significantly altered the political dynamics in the area.
On the final day of nomination withdrawal, 32-year-old Somesh Kaushik secured an unopposed victory, creating a new milestone. A civil engineer by profession, Kaushik received strong support from fellow candidates, paving the way for his uncontested win.
Dharmendra Kumar, Gyaneshwar Dutt, and Nitin Sharma withdrew their nominations in his favor, making his election unopposed.
Following his victory, supporters celebrated and extended warm congratulations to Kaushik.
Local MLA Sanjay Rattan expressed खुशी over the result and voiced confidence that Kaushik’s leadership would give a new direction to the town’s development.
