Deepak Sharma Demands Legal Action Against Trump Over Death of Indian Sailors
Hamirpur, June 12: Deepak Sharma, National Coordinator of the All India Kisan Congress, has expressed deep grief over the deaths of three Indian sailors, including Hamirpur resident Aditya Sharma, in a recent maritime incident near Oman. He termed the tragedy extremely unfortunate and raised serious questions regarding the role of the United States and the response of the Government of India.
In a press statement issued on Friday, Sharma said that the death of Aditya Sharma and the other Indian sailors has left not only Himachal Pradesh but the entire nation in mourning. He alleged that policies pursued by U.S. President Donald Trump were responsible for the circumstances leading to the incident and called for legal accountability.
Sharma stated that his legal team is examining the matter and exploring the possibility of initiating legal proceedings against those deemed responsible, in accordance with the law. He said that legal options, including the filing of a criminal complaint, are being reviewed.
The farmer leader also criticized the Central Government and leaders of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), alleging that they have failed to respond adequately to the tragedy. He described the government's reaction as disappointing and insufficient in light of the loss of Indian lives.
Questioning the government's foreign policy approach, Sharma said that India is grappling with challenges such as inflation and unemployment while, in his view, the concerns of ordinary citizens are not receiving adequate attention. He further alleged that the government has not shown the level of sensitivity expected in such a situation.
Sharma called for a fair and transparent investigation into the incident and demanded justice for the deceased sailors and support for their families. He paid tribute to Aditya Sharma and the other victims and conveyed his condolences to their bereaved families.
“The entire country stands with the families of the deceased sailors in this hour of grief. They deserve justice, accountability, and full support from the authorities,” Sharma said.
