In Jawalamukhi, devotees were seen at famous shrine of Jawalamukhi. The devotees started queuing up here since early morning and waited for hours to pay obeisance. Similarly, devotees thronged at various temples of the town to performed puja.
Sukhu thanked all the generous people for this spirit of cooperation and said that this is a symbol of sensitivity and unity in the society. He said that this relief material will now be distributed to the disaster affected families through Deputy Commissioner Mandi.
Sukhu said that after the north-eastern states of the country, the highest increase in cancer cases had been witnessed in Himachal Pradesh. The efforts were on to find out the root cause and change in food habits could also be a main reason for rise in cancer cases.
He said that due to restoration of old pension to government employees, many types of financial restrictions have been imposed on Himachal Pradesh, but the state government is still making efforts to improve health services.
The government has decided to provide free insulin pumps to youth up to 27 years of age. A total of 25 Advanced Life Sport Ambulances will be purchased to further strengthen the ambulance services in the state. Apart from this, the government is also going to make new schemes and provisions which will be effective in providing a healthy life to the people of the state. For this, the state government has made a provision of about Rs. 3,481 crore in the budget.
He said that for the first time, Himachal Day was celebrated in Spiti valley during the tenure of the present state government, which shows the commitment of the present state government for the development of tribal and remote areas.
Further hailing the centre over the abrogation of Article 370, Triple Talaq, Ayodhya Ram Mandir, he said, "One-third reservation was given for women in the legislature. In Himachal, it has been implemented by giving Kangana Ranaut a ticket."
Regarding the present political scenario in the state, the Chief minister said that there will be six assembly and four Lok Sabha polls in the state for which the candidates from Congress party will be announced soon. He hoped that there will be polls in nine assembly constituencies in the state and a decision from the speaker is awaited regarding the three independent candidates.
