Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Thakur Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu, along with his wife Kamlesh Thakur, offered prayers at the revered Mata Jwalamukhi Temple in Kangra district today, seeking peace, prosperity, and well-being for the people of the state.

The Chief Minister was warmly received at the temple premises by local MLA Sanjay Rattan. En route to Jwalamukhi, he also received a rousing welcome from local residents at several places. During the visit, he interacted with the public, listened to their grievances, and spoke to media persons.

Emphasizing the importance of religious tourism, Sukhu said that the state government is committed to providing all basic amenities at religious destinations to facilitate devotees. He added that infrastructure at all major shrines would be strengthened, including better parking facilities and improved civic amenities.

The Chief Minister stated that the government is working towards developing Kangra district into a major tourism hub, with the aim of establishing it as the “Tourism Capital” of Himachal Pradesh. This initiative, he said, would significantly boost the income of local residents.

Highlighting future plans, Sukhu said the state is focusing on improving air connectivity to attract high-end and international tourists. He noted that efforts are underway to promote tourism on a large scale by developing helipads, ropeways, water sports, aero sports, and religious tourism infrastructure.

He further informed that water sports activities would soon begin in the Pong Dam reservoir. Additionally, the government is considering setting up an international-standard zoo in Dehra (Kangra) and developing a world-class golf course in the district.

The Chief Minister said, “Today, along with my wife, I visited one of the 51 Shakti Peethas, Mata Jwalamukhi Temple, and prayed for the peace, prosperity, and progress of Himachal Pradesh. Sought blessings for the well-being of all citizens. Jai Maa Jwala Ji.”
