Vidhansabha Speaker Visited Jawalamukhi Temple
Kuldeep Pathania, Speaker of Himachal Pardesh Vidhansabha on Sunday Visited famous Jwalamukhi temple in Kangra District of Himachal Pradesh to pay obeisance. Mr. Pathania along with Local MLA Sanjay Rattan reached the jawalamukhi shrine Sunday evening.
According to mythology, Jwalamukhi is a Shakti Peeth where Goddess Sati’s tongue (Mahajivha) had fallen. This is corroborated in Tantra Chudamani, which states: "Jwalamukhyam Mahajihva Devi, Unmat Bhairavah"—meaning, Jwalamukhi is the abode of Sati’s tongue, and Lord Shiva resides here in the fierce form of Unmat Bhairav.
Jwalamukhi is also the seat of Dhumavati, the smoky goddess, and is considered one of the 52 Shakti Peethas, renowned as the most potent center of divine energy. Here, the Goddess resides in the form of an eternal flame, making it a sacred and powerful site in Tantric traditions. The temple is dedicated to Jwalamukhi- the Goddess of Light, also known as the Flaming Goddess or ‘She of the Flaming Mouth
The flame is worshiped as the manifestation of the goddess Jwalamukhi. Some also believe that Jwalamukhi represents the flaming mouth of Jalandhara, the demon who was crushed to death by Lord Shiva. The flames are believed to come from his mouth. Nine flames have been named after the goddesses – Mahakali, Annapurna, Chandi, Hinglaj, Vidhya, Basni, Maha Lakshmi, Saraswati, Ambika and Anji Devi which burn continuously.
Mr. Pathania was accorded a warm and rousing reception by a large number of Congress workers and local baridars of temple who welcomed him at the gate of Jawalamukhi shrine , with traditional musical instruments as he entered the temple. He prayed for the well being and prosperity of the people of the State.
Temple officer Manohar lal Sharma, said the vidhansabha speaker had pooja of the deity for better health, peace and prosperity. Local sanjay Rattan presented a photograph of Jawala ji to the vidhansabha speaeker . Senior officers of the district administration and other distinguished people were present on the occasion.
