On this occasion, Union Health Minister Shri Jagat Prakash Nadda and other dignitaries planted native Himalayan saplings under the Green ICMR Campus Initiative. Shri Nadda inaugurated a scientific exhibition for school students, launched the Centre’s website and institutional video, and released a commemorative postal special cover, marking key milestones in the establishment of the ICMR Centre for High Altitude Medicine and Public Health Research at Keylong.

The foundation stone laying ceremony will feature a traditional Bhumi Pujan, ceremonial groundbreaking and unveiling of the foundation stone, followed by the plantation of native Himalayan saplings under the Green ICMR Campus Initiative. The programme will also include the inauguration of a scientific exhibition, the launch of the Centre’s institutional video and website, presentation of the building layout, and the release of a commemorative postal special cover by the Union Health Minister.

Health Minister Dr. (Col.) Dhani Ram Shandil, Town and Country Planning Minister Rajesh Dharmani, Vice Chairman, HIMUDA, Yashwant Chajta, MLAs Ram Kumar and Ajay Solanki, Principal Secretary Devesh Kumar, Secretary Amarjeet Singh and other senior officers were also present in the meeting.

He said that Himachal Pradesh was known as 'Dev Bhoomi' and that its society has traditionally had a strong religious orientation. If young people today are choosing drug use instead of following their traditional spiritual and religious practices, it also raises questions about the values and upbringing being imparted to them by families and society.

She further said that the Health Minister has previously attracted criticism for insensitive public remarks. Referring to an earlier controversy involving the death of a woman patient after surgery at a civil hospital in Arki, she said that such statements hurt the sentiments of grieving families and expose the government's lack of sensitivity. The people of Himachal Pradesh deserve a compassionate, accountable, and efficient healthcare system—not insensitive responses from those entrusted with public welfare.

Dr. Saizal further stated that the Congress government repeatedly accuses the Central Government of not providing adequate financial assistance. However, the reality is that the same government fails to participate seriously in important meetings where health policies are discussed and future financial support, projects, and centrally sponsored schemes are reviewed.

Highlighting the significance of Aarogya Setu 2.0, the Health Minister described it as a comprehensive digital health companion that consolidates personal health records into a single application. The upgraded platform also enables easy access to government health services while offering AI-powered health insights, making healthcare more personalized, proactive, and efficient.

Before the inauguration, Solan Deputy Commissioner and Chairman of the Fair Committee Manmohan Sharma welcomed and felicitated Dr. Dhaniram Shandil, Ram Kumar Chaudhary, and Sanjay Awasthi.

Chief Minister said “The present state government remains committed to introducing high end technologies in the health sector. Recently, I have inaugurated a new 3 Tesla MRI machine at this premier health institution. In the coming times, we will invest over Rs 3,000 crore to upgrade technology across all medical colleges and other health institutions in the state, with the aim of providing affordable, world-class healthcare services at the doorstep of the people.”
