Prime Minister Narendra Modi congratulated Kavinder Gupta on taking over the new role and assured full support from the Central Government for the development of Himachal Pradesh.

In Jawalamukhi, devotees were seen at famous shrine of Jawalamukhi. The devotees started queuing up here since early morning and waited for hours to pay obeisance. Similarly, devotees thronged at various temples of the town to performed puja.

He said that the proposals were examined by the Empowered Committee in its meeting held on 4 November, 2025 and the approval has been granted on the basis of the Committee’s recommendations and the compliance report submitted by the State Government.

“The state government would provide Rs. 8.50 crore for strengthening the Kandaghat laboratory, while Rs. 25 crore would be released for setting up the food testing laboratory in Kangra district,” he said. The Chief Minister also directed that adequate manpower be ensured for the efficient functioning of these laboratories.

The ceremony, scheduled to begin at 11.30 am on December 20, will highlight the SSB's achievements, operational preparedness, and service in safeguarding India's borders. Senior officers of the force, personnel, and other dignitaries are expected to attend the event.

He said that the present government belongs to the people and was committed to safeguard their rights and welfare. The Mukhyamantri Sukh Aashray Sahayata Kosh was established to ensure that orphan children receive opportunities for higher and professional education, with the Government bearing the entire expenses.

It gave its nod to start 4 years integrated B.Ed. programme at Government College of Teachers Education, Dharamshala, Government College, Nadaun, Government College, Chail Koti and Government College, Tikkar, district Shimla. It also gave its approval to start 2 years B.P.Ed. Programme at Government College Saraswati Nagar, district Shimla. It also decided to introduce new Fine Arts subjects at College of Fine Arts at Loharab, district Shimla and open a new Fine Arts College by converting the existing Government Degree College, Haripur Guler in district Kangra.

The Chief Minister said that the state government was bringing reforms in every sector. Highlighting improvements in education, he said that Himachal Pradesh has now reached the fifth position in terms of quality education, compared to 21st during the previous BJP government’s tenure. We have initiated English-medium from the first class and rationalized the schools,” he reiterated.
