Rampur College Ground Gets a New Look as Forest Department Undertakes Hydroseeding
Ground gates to remain closed for one week from August 21

Forest Department appeals to the public for cooperation

Decision taken in view of the Annual Sports and Duty Meet scheduled from September 11 to 13

Shimla: In preparation for the Annual Sports and Duty Meet of the Himachal Pradesh Forest Department, the Patbangla, or PG College Rampur, Ground is getting a complete makeover. The Forest Department, with the cooperation of the local administration and the public, has taken up the task of improving the condition and appearance of the historic sports ground.

The ground has already been levelled by the department, and grass is now being grown using hydroseeding technology. The process may take up to a week to establish the grass properly. Accordingly, the grass-growing work will begin on Friday, August 21, and both gates of the ground will remain closed for one week to ensure proper growth of the grass.

The Forest Department has appealed to the public not to enter the ground during this period and to extend full cooperation in its maintenance and beautification.

It may be recalled that the department is leaving no stone unturned to transform the Patbangla sports ground ahead of the Sports Meet scheduled to be held from September 11 to 13. As soon as the dates for the Annual Sports and Duty Meet were finalised, the Rampur Forest Circle, with the support of the local administration and the public, started work to make the ground level, clean and aesthetically appealing.

As a result of the dedicated efforts of Forest Department officers, local administration officials and employees, the process of growing grass on the ground has also commenced after several years. Rampur Conservator of Forests C.B. Tashildar, Divisional Forest Officer Gurharsh Singh, along with Forest Range Officers, Deputy Forest Range Officers, Forest Guards, Van Mitras and other staff, made significant contributions towards levelling and improving the ground.

With the completion of the hydroseeding process and establishment of the grass, the ground is expected to acquire a greener and more attractive appearance, which will further encourage sports enthusiasts.

BOX: 16 Committees Constituted for Successful Conduct of Sports Meet
The Forest Department has constituted 16 committees for the successful organisation of the Annual Sports and Duty Meet. Responsibilities have been assigned to officials and employees ranging from senior departmental officers to Van Mitras. Rampur Conservator of Forests C.B. Tashildar said that responsibilities have been assigned to all the committees and each committee will play its role effectively to ensure the smooth and successful conduct of the competition.
