BJP Questions Himachal Government Over Recruitment Irregularities, Pending Appointments and Alleged Backdoor Jobs

Shimla: BJP Himachal Pradesh spokesperson Sandipani Bhardwaj on Friday criticised Horticulture Minister Jagat Singh Negi, saying he should answer questions regarding recruitment irregularities, pending appointments and alleged backdoor recruitments instead of targeting the BJP leadership. he alleged that the Congress government had failed to fulfil its promises of providing regular employment to the youth of Himachal Pradesh despite being in office for over two-and-a-half years.

Bhardwaj said the Congress government shut down the Himachal Pradesh Staff Selection Commission citing alleged irregularities but has yet to make the findings of its investigation public. he questioned why the government has not released a white paper identifying those responsible if serious irregularities were indeed found.

According to the BJP spokesperson, nearly 700 recruitment cases had reached the final stage during the previous BJP government, and thousands of eligible candidates were awaiting appointment letters. he alleged that the Congress government stalled these recruitment processes, depriving deserving youth of employment opportunities.

He further accused the state government of promoting a culture of backdoor appointments while claiming to support transparent recruitment. Bhardwaj alleged that several government positions had been filled by individuals with political connections, while qualified candidates continued to wait for regular jobs.

Targeting the government's outsourcing policy, she said the Congress had promised to end outsourcing and provide regular employment but had instead introduced additional restrictions and financial approval requirements, making the recruitment process more complicated and vulnerable to political influence.

Bhardwaj also criticised the state government for questioning the Centre over examination-related issues while failing to conclude or disclose the findings of the recruitment irregularities investigation in Himachal. She contrasted this with the Central Government's response to paper leak cases, stating that the Centre ordered CBI investigations, arrested the accused, conducted re-examinations and announced fast-track courts for speedy justice.

Concluding her statement, Bhardwaj said the BJP would continue to raise issues concerning Himachal's unemployed youth and demand transparency in recruitment. She urged the Congress government to complete pending appointments, make recruitment investigations public and fulfil its employment promises to the youth of the state.
