He said that India is moving forward with renewed confidence in the field of sports under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Initiatives such as Khelo India, the Target Olympic Podium Scheme (TOPS), expansion of sports infrastructure, modern training facilities, sports science, nutrition support, and greater international exposure have transformed the country's sporting ecosystem and created new opportunities for young athletes.

He noted that the enthusiastic participation of athletes and citizens reflected the growing awareness about fitness and the importance of sports in everyday life.
Speaking about Hamirpur's sporting legacy, Thakur said that a synthetic athletics track was constructed in the district with the support and blessings of former Chief Minister Prof. Prem Kumar Dhumal, enabling many local athletes to achieve success at the national level.
He further added that, to strengthen this sporting tradition, approval had also been secured for establishing a Centre of Excellence in Hamirpur, which will provide advanced training facilities and better opportunities for aspiring athletes.
The event concluded with a collective pledge to promote fitness, encourage sports participation, and build a healthier and stronger India through active lifestyles.
