CBI Revelations in Vimal Negi Case Raise Serious Questions on Congress Government: Sanjeev Katwal
Shimla, June 6, 2026: BJP State General Secretary Sanjeev Katwal has launched a sharp attack on the Congress government following recent developments in the Vimal Negi case, stating that the findings reportedly emerging from the CBI investigation have raised serious concerns about administrative accountability and governance in Himachal Pradesh.
Addressing the media after a BJP organizational meeting held at Deep Kamal, Chakkar, Shimla, Katwal said that allegations related to fake completion certificates, manipulation of official records, and decisions taken in violation of established procedures are deeply troubling and warrant complete transparency.
He stated that if project completion certificates were issued despite discrepancies between the actual status of projects and official records, and if officers were allegedly pressured or sidelined for raising objections, the matter goes far beyond routine administrative lapses. According to Katwal, such allegations strike at the very credibility of the state’s administrative machinery.
The BJP leader questioned why timely action was not taken if concerns had already been raised and demanded that the Congress government explain whether individuals responsible for these actions received political or administrative protection. He said the people of Himachal Pradesh have a right to know the truth and deserve clear answers from the government.
Katwal emphasized that the Vimal Negi case is not merely about one officer but is a broader issue involving transparency, institutional integrity, and good governance. If officials were compelled to work under pressure and due procedures were ignored, it would reflect a serious systemic failure, he said.
Alleging that several incidents during the tenure of the present Congress government have fueled public concerns over corruption, favoritism, and political patronage, Katwal urged the government to focus on accountability rather than political rhetoric.
He also called upon all concerned officials to cooperate fully with the CBI investigation, ensuring that the truth emerges without obstruction and justice is delivered fairly. Reiterating the BJP’s stand, Katwal demanded a comprehensive and impartial probe and strict action against anyone found guilty, asserting that the party will continue to raise the issue until accountability is ensured.
