Public Urges Governor to Take Initiative for Better Administration of Religious Shrines
Demand is growing among devotees and local residents for the major temples of Himachal Pradesh to be managed on the lines of the famous Vaishno Devi Shrine model. People believe that adopting a professional and transparent shrine management system would significantly improve facilities for pilgrims and strengthen religious tourism in the state.
Following Governor Kavinder Gupta’s statement regarding the development of a Religious Tourism Circuit, devotees have urged him to take concrete steps toward implementing a Vaishno Devi-style management pattern for Himachal’s renowned temples.
People feel that famous shrines such as Maa Jawala Devi Temple, Maa Chintpurni Temple, Maa Naina Devi Temple, Maa Chamunda Devi Temple and Maa Brajeshwari Devi Temple should be equipped with modern facilities, better crowd management, improved cleanliness, accommodation services, online booking systems and enhanced transportation facilities for devotees.
According to devotees, a dedicated shrine board or an organized temple management system similar to the Vaishno Devi Shrine Board could help increase temple revenue, generate employment opportunities for local youth and boost Himachal Pradesh’s spiritual tourism sector.
People have appealed to the Governor and the state government to seriously consider establishing a special religious management authority to preserve the sanctity of temples while ensuring world-class facilities for pilgrims visiting Dev Bhoomi Himachal Pradesh.
