Talking with the media, he said that the State faced three challenges during the past three years, the worst being the natural disaster followed by economic and political upheaval but the Government with the blessings of divine power and cooperation of the people of the State overcame these challenges.

The Deputy Chief Minister urged the media to give prominence to issues related to the interests of Himachal Pradesh. Addressing media representatives from across the country, he elaborated on Himachal Pradesh’s 7.19 per cent share in Chandigarh land and assets. Apart from this the State’s rightful claim of approximately Rs. 5,000 crore in BBMB projects, as per the 2011 Supreme Court judgment.

In the state, 76 societies are serving the fishing community, 971 dairy societies are engaged in milk production and distribution, 441 societies are providing savings and credit facilities and 386 primary marketing cooperative societies are helping farmers sell their produce. Himachal is also progressing in the dairy sector, where 561 new societies have been established.

Chief Minister was presiding over a high level meeting with the Army Officers and BRO here today. He also reviewed various border development projects with the officers and directed them to expedite these projects to reap the maximum benefits to the people residing in bordering areas and military forces. He directed the PWD and BRO officers to coordinate for early execution of the ongoing projects.

They demanded construction of link road from Koku nallah to Gharok and drinking water supply scheme from Katch nallah to Gharok to benefit the people residing in these areas. They also invited the Chief Minister to visit the area.
