Shimla, April 28, 2026: The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has stepped up preparations for the upcoming Municipal Corporation elections in Himachal Pradesh, with a crucial strategy meeting held at the party’s state headquarters, Deep Kamal in Chakkar, Shimla. The meeting was chaired by BJP State President Dr. Rajeev Bindal.

Among those present were Leader of Opposition and former Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur, State In-Charge Shrikant Sharma, and Co-In-Charge Sanjay Tandon, along with several senior leaders, MLAs, and party office bearers.

The meeting focused on formulating a detailed election strategy for the four Municipal Corporations—Mandi, Solan, Palampur, and Dharamshala. Leaders discussed constituency-specific plans, emphasizing local issues, organisational strength, and effective grassroots outreach.

Addressing the meeting, Dr. Bindal stated that elections in all four municipal corporations will be contested on party symbols, and the BJP will enter the electoral fray with full strength. He noted that a series of meetings with senior leadership is ongoing to fine-tune the party’s electoral strategy.

“The BJP will go among the people and expose the anti-people policies of the Congress government,” he said, asserting that the party would highlight governance failures and public dissatisfaction.

Bindal further claimed that the Congress government has failed to meet public expectations, and the upcoming municipal elections will reflect the people’s sentiment. He expressed confidence that BJP’s organisational strength and dedicated cadre will ensure victory across all four municipal corporations.
