Law and Order Collapsed, Debt and Inflation Soaring in Himachal: Dr. Rajeev Bindal Targets Congress Government
Nahan, April 12 -- Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) state president Dr. Rajeev Bindal launched a sharp attack on the Congress-led Himachal Pradesh government while addressing an “Aakrosh Rally” in Nahan. He alleged that the three-and-a-half-year tenure of the government led by Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu has been “devastating” for the people of the state.
Bindal claimed that the law and order situation in Himachal Pradesh has deteriorated significantly, citing an alleged rise in cases of murder, robbery, extortion, gang violence, and crimes against women. He further accused the government of providing patronage to drug, liquor, and scrap mafias, creating an atmosphere of fear among citizens.
On the economic front, the BJP leader alleged that the state has been pushed deeper into debt, with approximately ₹45,000 crore borrowed in the last three-and-a-half years, taking the total debt close to ₹1.10 lakh crore. He also criticized the government for imposing high VAT on petrol and diesel, contributing to rising inflation.
Bindal further alleged steep increases in the prices of essential services, including cement, electricity, water, stamp duty, and ration, claiming that these measures have placed a heavy financial burden on the common people. Referring to it as the “Sukhu Model,” he claimed that the government has been shutting down schools, hospitals, and other public institutions across the state.
Raising the issue of unemployment, he accused the government of failing to fulfill its promises of providing jobs to youth, stating that many are now struggling to find employment. He also alleged injustice towards farmers, women, employees, traders, and retired personnel.
Concluding his address, Bindal said that the people of the state have begun to raise their voices against the government, and the BJP will stand firmly with them in this movement.
