Threats to ‘fix officers in the dark of night’ — atmosphere of fear, anarchy and authoritarianism in Himachal: Randhir

Three-year celebration ignores people’s suffering — event turns into a display of failures, false guarantees and anti-public decisions

Shimla. - Reacting sharply to the Congress government’s three-year celebration held in Mandi, BJP State Media Incharge and senior MLA Randhir Sharma said the event was not a celebration but an open exhibition of three years of failed governance, betrayal and mismanagement. He said the statements made from the stage by Congress leaders themselves clearly exposed that the government is collapsing from within, riddled with internal conflict, while the people continue to suffer under heavy burdens.

Randhir Sharma said the most shocking and unprecedented moment was when Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri openly termed his own Chief Minister “incompetent”, incapable and indecisive, exposing the government’s inner collapse before the public. He said this was the first time in Himachal’s history that the second-highest office-bearer in the government publicly attacked the Chief Minister’s credibility. “It is now evident that the Congress ship is shaking from within, leadership is divided, and the government has lost moral and administrative control,” Sharma added.

He further said that Pradesh Congress in-charge Rajni Patil adding to the embarrassment by calling Mukesh Agnihotri the “Man of the Match” only legitimized such reckless remarks. “If humiliating the Chief Minister is ‘Man of the Match’, then the people can very well understand the direction in which this government has driven Himachal in the last three years,” Sharma remarked.

Threats to officers — collapse of democratic conduct

Randhir Sharma condemned the Deputy Chief Minister’s shocking statement threatening that officers would be “dealt with in the dark of night”, “rubbed down” and “destroyed”.
He said such language is an attack on Himachal’s dignified administrative culture and democratic ethos.

Sharma added:
“Having no development to show after three years, the Congress government is now misusing power, intimidating officers, employees and the public. This is dangerous for the peace and dignity of the state.”

He warned that this style of politics could push the state towards instability and fear.

Congress must answer — what exactly are they celebrating after three failed years?

Sharma questioned the moral basis of the Congress government’s celebration and presented a list of failures:

Are they celebrating the fact that they duped the public twice with false guarantees, not fulfilling even one?

Are they celebrating that HIMCARE was shut down, leaving thousands without medical support?

Are they celebrating the closure of Sahara, Shagun and Gani Suvidha schemes, harming the most vulnerable?

Are they celebrating the complete halt of development by stopping MLA Area Development Funds?

Are they celebrating that no new works are progressing in roads, hospitals or schools?

Are they celebrating that electricity and water tariffs were increased multiple times, burdening families?

Are they celebrating steep hikes in cement prices, stamp duty, petrol and diesel, causing economic distress?

Sharma said the Congress government’s only achievement in three years is inflation, unemployment and administrative disorder.

Celebrating in disaster-hit Mandi — a cruel insult to suffering families

Sharma said the Congress government chose Mandi—the district worst hit by natural disasters—for the celebration, exposing its insensitivity.
He said:

“Families who lost homes are still waiting for compensation, while the government is celebrating with pomp in the same district. This is cruelty at its peak.”

He also said credible information indicates that food and arrangements for the rally attendees were financed from disaster relief funds, which is a double betrayal of the people.

More government employees than Congress workers — proof of no public support

Sharma said genuine Congress workers were barely visible in the rally, whereas government employees, beneficiaries and departmental staff were present in large numbers due to pressure.
He said this clearly shows that the event was not a demonstration of public support but a gathering forced through government machinery.

People will not forgive the Congress — BJP will return with full majority in 2027

Randhir Sharma said the people of Himachal now fully understand the Congress government’s hypocrisy, misuse of power, abusive language, attacks on democratic norms and false promises. He said: “In 2027, the people will punish the Congress for its failures and bring the BJP back to power with a strong majority. Himachal’s future cannot be entrusted to a government that has betrayed public trust at every step.”
