Joshimath Natural Calamity& Role OF Society.A small place,in Chamoli distric,a stoppage fr pilgrims ,on Chardham Yatra,(Badrinathetc) famous fr cultural ,religious,,temples & centre of spiritualism ,came into focus when cracks started appearing on buildings. Joshimath population of about 02K affected, living in more than 720 houses,out of which about 12% have been marked unsafe & immediately required evacuation rather evacuated Govt,and several other agencies are doing their best. District Chamoli falls under Seismic Zone05,which is most activated and worst earthquake prone zone.There are two main factors fr this agony Scientific& Human Error. If it is scientific, it means , it can be geotechnical, geophysical& hydrolic problem.From All the factors ,it is clear that unplanned structures, ( houses, hotels& o.bs. two hotels in very dangerous condition, accumulation of water,due of faulty drainage,debris accumulation, digging beyond permitted lmts,emission of Radon Gas& energy dissipation, due to crust below disturbances caused due to expansion OR squeezing of rocky plates and filling of debris in the empty spaces& resulting in subsidencing of upper surface/ crust,signifying imminent danger& mishap any moment. Now comes the role of us( society). At this time of natural calamity,we all Indians must have great concern& sympathy with the families affected. Although, the central& state govts are doing their best possible on their part, by creating Relief Camps,Evacuating people day& night,many govt agencies& NGOare in action day& night.Society can extend helpful hands in the form of kindOR cash. In my opinion,a separate JoshimathRelief Fund account should be started,and all should donate liberally,so that amount collected is distributed well in time.This is not very difficult, even 01cr persons donating Rs 100,can collect Rs 100cr,and at least one cr. is given to each family loosing their encestor's homes& the affected two hotels Mallari Inn, Hot Mount View.
