The Prime Minister noted that Varanasi experiences pleasant cold weather at this time, accompanied by delicious seasonal foods, and suggested enjoying malaiyyo. He urged participants to also take with them the experience of visiting Baba Vishwanath, boating in the Ganga, and soaking in the city’s heritage. Kashi once again is preparing to welcome people for Kashi Tamil Sangamam, in a celebration  of the rich cultures, Shri Modi further added.

Union Minister for Education Dr. Dharmendra Pradhan reviewed the preparations. Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, Governor of Tamil Nadu R.N. Ravi, Union Minister for Education Dr. Dharmendra Pradhan, Minister of Tourism and Culture G. Kishan Reddy and Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Dr L. Murugan will also attend the function.

Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister underlined the importance of the occasion of Sri Aurobindo’s 150th birth anniversary which is being celebrated with great fervour throughout the year. The Prime Minister highlighted that the nation is paying tributes to Sri Aurobindo by releasing a commemorative coin and postal stamp. 

While expressing his happiness on attending the ‘Kashi Tamil Sangamam’, Shri Chandrasekaran said that the connection between Kashi and Tamil Nadu existed for thousands of years and the showcasing of this connection in various forms of literature, arts, culture, and food is very commendable
