New Delhi | SFI Protests in Delhi, Demands Dissolution of NTA and Resignation of Education Minister Over NEET Paper Leak Row

Updated on Friday, June 19, 2026 18:57 PM IST

New Delhi, June 19: The Students' Federation of India (SFI) staged a protest in the national capital on Friday, demanding the dissolution of the National Testing Agency (NTA), a thorough investigation into alleged irregularities in national-level examinations, and the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The demonstration was organized in response to concerns over alleged paper leaks and mismanagement in examinations conducted by the NTA, including NEET and other entrance tests. SFI activists marched in Delhi, accusing the agency of failing to ensure a fair, transparent, and credible examination system for students across the country.

Protesters raised slogans against the NTA and the Education Ministry, alleging that repeated controversies surrounding competitive examinations have jeopardized the future of lakhs of students. The organization argued that the agency has lost public confidence and called for structural reforms in the examination process.

SFI leaders demanded a comprehensive and independent probe into all reported cases of examination irregularities, strict action against those responsible, and greater accountability within the education system. They also urged the government to take concrete measures to restore trust among students and parents.

According to the organization, students from various states participated in the protest to highlight growing concerns over examination transparency and the need for stronger safeguards against paper leaks and malpractice.

The protest comes amid continuing debates over the conduct of national entrance examinations and demands from student groups for reforms aimed at ensuring fairness, security, and credibility in India's testing system.
