Social activist Sumit Sharma has voiced serious concerns over the ongoing traffic congestion and alleged mismanagement on Mandir Road in Ward No. 2, Jawalamukhi. In a post shared on social media, he questioned the authorities responsible for allowing such disruption in an area that falls under the jurisdiction of the Deputy Commissioner of Kangra and the Sub-Divisional Magistrate of Jawalamukhi.
Sharma stated that vehicles are meant to facilitate public convenience and emergency assistance, not to create disorder and inconvenience for residents and visitors. He expressed concern over the increasing traffic congestion, which, according to him, has severely affected pedestrian movement and could pose a risk during medical emergencies.
He further alleged that public grievances regarding the issue have not received the attention they deserve and expressed disappointment with the response of the local administration and law enforcement authorities. Sharma said that effective action is required to restore order and ensure that traffic regulations are enforced without exception.
Calling for accountability, he urged the concerned authorities to identify those responsible for the situation and take appropriate punitive action to prevent similar incidents in the future. He emphasized that public safety and smooth access for emergency services must remain a top priority.
