Jawalamukhi, June 13: The increasing flow of vehicles on the Old Temple Road in Jawalamukhi has made it difficult and unsafe for pedestrians to move freely. Local residents say the road remains congested throughout the day, creating serious inconvenience for both residents and visitors.
According to locals, the route serves as an important access road for ambulances and emergency services. However, a large number of commercial vehicles continue to use the road, resulting in frequent traffic congestion and leaving very little space for pedestrians.
Residents have expressed concern that in the event of a medical emergency, patients may face significant delays in reaching the hospital. They fear that critically ill patients, elderly individuals, and pregnant women could be particularly affected by the ongoing traffic chaos.
Despite repeated complaints, locals allege that no effective measures have been taken to regulate traffic on the route. They are urging the administration to implement strict traffic management, restrict unnecessary commercial vehicle movement, and ensure that the emergency corridor remains clear at all times.
The residents have appealed to the Deputy Commissioner of Kangra to intervene and take immediate steps to resolve the issue, ensuring safer movement for pedestrians, patients, and emergency vehicles on the Old Temple Road.
